Welcome to your off-grid coastal cabin escape! Our fully self-contained cabin offers a cosy and practical retreat with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Powered by electricity, the cabin sleeps up to 5 guests with 2 bunks and a single bed. We provide blankets, pillows, and duvets, and while most guests prefer to bring their own sleeping bags, clean sheets and pillowcases are also available, just check the suitcase next to the fridge.

You’ll find everything needed to cook up a feast with a fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, electric kettle, toaster, electric frying pan, newly added air fryer, and all utensils and cutlery are supplied.

For something special, step outside and make use of the outdoor open fire complete with cooking gear and even a fish smoker stocked with manuka sawdust. A favourite among both men and women who enjoy rustic cooking!

Amenities include a separate wash-room, outdoor solar shower, and a separate flushing toilet!

The cost is $100 per night for up to 2 persons, and open for trout fishing season from October 2025. Guides are available upon request.

The cabin is located at the end of the Ngapakira Road on the river-bank, just before the bridge. Travelling from Gisborne, take the Gisborne to Wairoa road via Tiniroto. An alternative route is via Ohuka Road off Waikaremoana Road, turning
onto the Ruakituri Valley Road towards Papuni Road. Head towards Ngapakira Road to the "Ruakituri Hilton".
